This event is a fundraiser for our Girls Lead for Life Program – a free after school program for adolescent girls and non-binary youth that uses indoor and outdoor rock climbing to build social emotional and leadership skills, confidence, and positive peer relationships.

Storytellers:

Lucie (she/her) – Lucie is a SCARPA sponsored multisport mountain athlete in the fields of ultra trail running and rock climbing. Much of her enthusiasm for her sports comes from the benefit she sees in her mental health and the calming effect these activities have on her brain. Together, running and climbing give her the peace of mind that helps her show up as her best self in the rest of her life. She holds her Master’s in Sports Psychology and is passionate about fostering better mental health practices in sport environments.

Cheyenne (she/her)  is a certified AMGA single pitch instructor, field guide, entrepreneur, and Women’s Wilderness Program Coordinator. Her passions include cultivating mentor-mentee relationships and expanding her skill set in her interests (backcountry expeditions, rock-climbing, highlining, art and business). She’s committed to creating real change for diversity, equity, and inclusion and to share the magic of nature with people of all colors, backgrounds, sizes, gender identities, and experience levels.

Raoudha (she/her) – Passionate about social justice, women’s rights, and refugee and immigrant health, she has always sought to serve her community wherever she is, including in Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United States, Malta, West Africa, and Hungary. She has spent her career focused on addressing the challenging needs of public service and nonprofit organizations by developing community outreach initiatives and partnerships with local communities. Raoudha is an active representative on the Boulder County Cultural Responsiveness and Inclusion Advisory Committee (CRIAC), working with Boulder County leadership to develop and promote a culturally responsive and inclusive environment for all.

Kate (she/her) – Kate has been the Executive Director of the Boulder Climbing Community since 2016 and an avid climber since 2002. Her commitment to a human-centered leadership model where relationships always come first originates from her time as a Teach for America educator in Oakland and the Bronx. Kate is an avid outdoor athlete pushing herself uphill by any means available. She loves mentoring other women leaders and being a mother in leadership in the outdoor industry. Kate serves on the AIARE Board of Directors and the County of Boulder Emergency Services Grant Committee.
