Course Description:

If you’ve been wanting to break past limiting beliefs and patterns that have been holding you back for far too long, then join certified movement teacher and shadow guide, Natalie Gentry, in a midday workshop to identify and release the Queen within!

As women of color, we have our own experiences of dealing with “not-enoughness” in spite of constantly doing so much for others. Many of us were raised to depend on the goodwill, kindness, and love of others to feel our own value without strengthening our own inner power.

In her own words, Natalie shared: “I notice many of my BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) clients have similar issues of being so exhausted and not trusting of themselves that they all but fall apart once they get into my office.”

“I can relate to my clients and to other WOC I meet because I’ve been there, too. It’s important that we give ourselves permission to recognize the things about ourselves that make us uncomfortable and learn to love them and to love our wonderfulness, too.”

Part inner reflection, group discussion, and movement, this holistic offering gives women of color a forum to open up about the challenges they face as they move through life, to recognize the cages they find themselves in, and to discover and celebrate the ways they shine. It’s also intended to remind women that they aren’t alone.

What to expect in this playshop:

  • Learning about the shadow
  • Meditation and reflection
  • Group practice and reflection
  • Movement and dance instruction
  • Food and beverage refreshments

The intention of this retreat is to help you form deep connections with your shadow and light, other women, and yourself. Together, we will recalibrate and nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits in community.

Your Instructors:

Natalie (she/her) for as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in (and fascinated by) the human condition, how we choose to live our lives, and how we exist inside of our own skin. I guide women to unearth their truth and to embody and celebrate their voice, power, and unique gifts through Body-centered Shadow Coaching, Maya Massage, Breathwork, and Conscious Movement. I offer conscious movement because I believe that when we get comfortable dancing to the beat of our own drummer on the dance floor…dancing in our glory and through our discomfort and fear…the more comfortable we will be taking our dance out into our everyday lives.

Kriste (she/her) is the Executive Director at Women’s Wilderness, as well as a passionate outdoor enthusiast who loves being in community while in nature. She’s all about bringing mindfulness and storytelling into the mix in ways that heighten the inner and outer adventure by teaching us more about ourselves and our surroundings. She’s also a trail runner, writer, and Wilderness First Responder.
