Adventure Backpack & Climb Description:

Adventure Backpack and Climb is a multi-sport adventure course for middle schoolers. During this program, participants will have a chance to backpack, camp, and climb in the scenic and wild backcountry of Wyoming. This is a great opportunity for participants to explore different terrain, learn to navigate challenges, develop bravery, and meet new friends all within a safe and supportive environment. Caring and experienced instructors will support participants in developing both their technical and interpersonal skills. Each night, participants will have the opportunity to share fun and bond as a group.

This backpack and climb course is appropriate for both first-time and experienced backpackers and climbers.

Activities & Features:

• Backpacking & rock climbing
• Campcraft, including tent set up and camp cooking
• Navigation, water treatment and other backcountry skills 
• Journaling, art, and personal reflection
• Learn climbing technique, belaying, and safety knots
• Learn how to pack a backpack and sleep under the stars in backcountry environments
• Take space away from technology and screens
• Explore environmental stewardship through nature immersion

• Ages: 11-13 (Middle School)
• Date: July 15th-21st 2024
• Time: Drop Off – 7:00AM on start date / Pick Up – 3:00PM on end date.
• Location: Meet at the Women’s Wilderness Office in Boulder

CHILD CARE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: Due to our licensing we are required to have all forms below that apply. Please make sure to make an appointment before the paperwork deadline:

• Required for ALL participants: Youth Health Form (Physical- We will provide form)
• If participant has allergy that requires an epi-pen: Colorado Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan
• If participant has asthma: Colorado Asthma Care Plan and Medication
• If participant has seizures: Seizures Emergency Care plan and Medication Orders
• If participant has been to counselor/therapist in past 2 years: Counselor/Therapist Form

This paperwork must be turned in by the paperwork due date June 15th, 2024 for your student to keep their spot in our youth camp. Please make sure that your physical appointment is set before that date.
