Trailblazers
Trailblazers was established in 2017 as an affinity space created by and for those who identify as women and non-binary BIPOC. We exist to improve their physical and mental health through joyful, safe, self-led, accessible opportunities to recreate, build outdoor skills, commune in nature together, all while having ourselves some serious fun.
Here, BIPOC women+ get to celebrate the beauty of our diversity without apology or leaving anything behind; we experience transformative connections to the land, powerful reclamation of the right to take up space, and to belong. As our community grows, so does sustained interest in outdoor activity, all of which results in better health outcomes and sense of responsibility of Colorado’s public lands.
At Women’s Wilderness, we recognize the importance and value of creating safe, self-directed spaces as an option for our participants who seek it, and it’s the goal of the Trailblazers team to address that need by fostering community, joy, and connection within our diverse identities as we explore the outdoors together.
