Course Description:

The Spring Equinox symbolizes balance, renewal, and growth. Join a community of women and non-binary individuals as we embrace new beginnings through movement, exploration, and creativity. On our 6.5-mile journey along the scenic trails of South Boulder, we’ll set new intentions, refresh our mindsets, and cultivate personal growth. Together, we’ll mindfully plant and nurture the seeds of transformation, supporting one another as we step into this new season of possibility.

👥 Who: adult women and non-binary people
🗓️ When: 7am-2pm Sunday, March 30, 2025
📍 Where: Meet at Women’s Wilderness for breakfast snacks and coffee, and to make lunches; caravan in Women’s Wilderness van to south Boulder trails trailhead (Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks)
🎟️ Price: $35/45/55 sliding scale
⛰️ Activity level: Moderate. ~6.5 miles and 1,000 ft elevation gain.
➕ Included: Professional and experience guides, food and snacks, transportation to trailhead, permit for parking and hiking, gear rental (including backpacks, trekking poles, hiking boots, and ice traction)

Accessibility:

This course requires participants to hike 6.5 miles, and be on their feet for approximately four to five hours. The trails are rated as Moderate by Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks, and some trails may be challenging for those with mobility devices. The hike is a loop with a total ascent of 1000 feet. Women’s Wilderness 15-passenger van is not equipped for wheelchair users. This course will be facilitated in English. 

What to Wear & Bring:

Registered participants will receive a detailed hiking checklist, including guidance on what to wear. We recommend bringing a daypack with a 22L to 30L capacity to carry water, snacks, lunch, and extra layers. Additionally, we recommend carrying ½ liter of water for each hour we’ll be hiking.

Your Instructors:

Marley (she/her) has spent over 25 years engaging communities in wildlife conservation education, as well as evaluating environmental education programs and measuring impact. Working for Women’s Wilderness is a meaningful intersection of Marley’s passion for outdoor recreation and her commitment to equity, access, and inclusion for individuals and communities historically excluded from experiences in and with the natural world.

Sam (she/her) is dedicated to making outdoor recreation more accessible and empowering young girls to connect with nature, build self-confidence, and discover a lasting sense of power and resilience. In her free time, Sam enjoys climbing, reading, camping, trail riding with her family, and playing board games.
