Course Description

Let’s learn how to sail together! This beginner-friendly sailing experience is taught by women, for women and gender expansive adults.

In partnership with Community Sailing of Colorado, Women’s Wilderness is hitting the water at Cherry Creek Reservoir for an evening of (literally) learning the ropes. No experience is necessary. You’ll sail on a larger, stable keelboat with your instructor and rotate through positions onboard, picking up a basic understanding of sailing skills including boat handling, steering, points of sail, and sail trim. It’s hands-on, low-pressure, and a whole lot of fun!

⛰️ Activity level: No sailing experience necessary. This course takes place on the water. Participants should be comfortable being on a boat. Please contact us with any accessibility needs prior to registration. Park entrance fee is required if you do not have an annual state parks pass on your vehicle registration.

What to Wear & Bring

Outdoor clothes that you would wear on a hike are great. It gets colder when the sun sets, so it is recommended to bring an extra layer. Class will be held rain or shine, as long as there is no lightening.
