Registration Deadline: Thursday, June 18, 2026 @11:59pm MT
Course Description
Ready to reach new heights? Our Introduction to Outdoor Rock Climbing one-day course is perfect for women and non-binary individuals who have experience climbing in a gym and are ready to transition their skills to outdoor rock climbing. In this course you will learn essential techniques and safety protocols, including anchor cleaning, which is the process of removing a climber’s gear from an anchor point in order to free up the anchor for other climbers, to rappel down, or to lower off of a climb. All climbing in this course will be top roping.
This course aims to build confidence while scaling real rock faces under the guidance of our experienced and certified rock technician instructors. Women’s Wilderness will provide all the climbing gear, including personal climbing gear – including harnesses, shoes, and helmets for those that do not own their own gear. This is your chance to discover the joy of climbing outdoors in a supportive and empowering environment!

Your Instructors

Climbing has had a positive impact on Meg’s life. She loves to spend long days outdoors, striking a balance between epic-ing and relaxing in the mountains. Some of her favorite memories have been in the Mendenhall Towers of Alaska, Peru’s Cordillera Blanca, Castle Valley Utah, and Mallorca. But more important than the place or the objective, it’s about how and who we get to share our experiences with! She loves exploring new perspectives, supporting climbers in their mountain goals, and occasionally sending the gnar. She is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide, Apprentice Alpine Guide, Ice Instructor and EMT in Colorado.
