Course Description:
Join us for an unforgettable weekend in Colorado’s high country! Are you ready for an adventure that blends outdoor skill-building, breathtaking scenery, and meaningful connection? Come camp with an inspiring group of women+ who love the outdoors!
This three-day, two-night immersive camping trip near Kenosha Pass (just 65 miles southwest of Denver) is designed to empower participants with camping 101 skills, hiking, meditation, and navigation practice—all while building community with other nature-loving women and non-binary adventurers.
Surrounded by the stunning alpine meadows and views of Colorado’s Mosquito Range, we’ll dive into hands-on experiences, including:
- Setting up camp, building a fire, and cooking delicious meals under the stars
- Strengthening navigation skills through a workshop and putting them to use on the Colorado Trail
- Engaging in reflection, guided meditation, and unstructured time to soak in nature’s beauty
- Hiking through breathtaking landscapes, fostering resilience and confidence outdoors
This weekend is all about learning and growing together in a welcoming, joyful and empowering space. Whether you’re new to camping or a seasoned explorer, there’s a place for you here!
Let Women’s Wilderness handle all the details! We’ll provide everything you need for this adventure, including tents, nourishing meals and snacks, and cooking and cleaning supplies. You can bring your own sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and day packs, or use ours (included with course fee)!

🗓️ When: 12pm Friday, June 27 – 1pm Sunday, June 29, 2025
📍 Where: Kenosha Pass (Park County; 65 miles SE of Denver)
🎟️ Price: Sliding scale $295/345/395 (payment plans available)
⛰️ Activity level and accessibility: No experience with camping is necessary to participate! This course will take place at an established campground at approximately 10,000 feet in elevation. Day hikes will range in distance, depending on the group’s preferences; each hike may be up to 6 miles in length. The temperature averages during the day are typically a high in the mid-70s and a low in the 40s. This course will be facilitated in English.

- Pre-Trip Virtual Prep Meeting: 6pm Wednesday, June 18, 2025
- Professional and experienced guides with knowledge of the course, safety, setting up camp, building fires, and trained as Wilderness First Responders
- First aid and backcountry restroom supplies
- All snacks, meals, water and electrolytes
- All cooking equipment; wildlife-proof storage
- Water filtration systems for day hikes
- Transportation from Denver Metro area to campground
- Tents
- Gear Rental – clothing, trekking poles, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads

What to Wear & Bring:
Registered participants will receive a detailed camping packing checklist, including guidance on what to wear, as well as a link to request gear to rent.
Tents will be provided by Women’s Wilderness. Participants may bring their own sleeping bags and pads (sleeping bags should be rated at 20 F or lower).

Your Instructors:
Lisa (she/her) is a retired firefighter paramedic who finds physical and mental respite in nature, and loves to share these benefits with nature newcomers! Wildlife, plants, and outdoor skills are her jam and she hopes to pass on some useful knowledge. She holds degrees in healthcare science, zoology, and outdoor education.
Marley (she/her) has spent over 25 years engaging communities in wildlife conservation education, as well as evaluating environmental education programs and measuring impact. Working for Women’s Wilderness is a meaningful intersection of Marley’s passion for outdoor recreation and her commitment to equity, access, and inclusion for individuals and communities historically excluded from experiences in and with the natural world.
